Exorcising my inner demons

Recently, I started the "real" work on my collage on abuse called "A Secret Ordeal".

Believe me a lot of weird things have been happening, such as having nightmares during the first week of work, so I took a break for the weekend especially to watch the Super Bowl which the New Orleans Saints won, and last week Salah's computer had a virus so I had to postpone work on the piece, and yes last week I did not have any nightmares, I was able to get another batch of photos when Salah's computer was fixed last thursday, but I decided to take the weekened off because last Sunday was St.Valentines Day, and I did not want to deal with this dark heavy subject on the day of love.

I also decided to go to church and pray to Jesus each time before I go to work on this piece, so that way I can deal with this subject as easily as I can.

You know, I feel like I'm directing a dark movie that's having a lot of weird things happening on the set the same way as when in that scene near the end of Raiders of The Lost Ark when the Nazi's were filming the ceremony where they open the ark, and all this weird stuff starts happening such as the electric lights going out and the film camera's electrically shorting out, or it's like opening up Pandora's box in order to face this monster in me, but I know that once this piece is finished, I'll be healed and I would have gotten to the other side.

A night with the Apostolics

Last Friday, I went to a Bible study that was hosted by Paulette Grizzle at her house.

You see she is the owner of Sheridan Manor, the assisted living facility where I reside here in Hollywood, Florida.

I was able to talk about what I know about the Bible, and about what I've learned from life, and we all had honey barbecue chicken wings which Paulette made, I'm telling you, they were good, than we started the service with praise and worship and than Paulette's sister Christine read about how to pray, and we all had a discussion prayer and about life in general.

I do recall showing the group a photo of my former friend Moshe, and Beverly who was one of Paulettes friends said that she felt on my spirit that I needed deliverance from what i don't know. I tore up the picture along with a magazine photo of a chimpanzee, and they started praying and gawking in tongues, that I thought that they thought I was possessed by demons.

That part was spooky, but other than that, it was fun.

Cici's poetry reading

I did a painting recently on the earthquake that occurred in Haiti.

Last Wednesday night, there was an evening of poetry reading and a Book signing at Rebel’s Drop-In Center by the Haitian born poet ‘Cecile Dumornay’ & I decided to get a photo of her and me in front of that painting.
